Phonological Awareness
– phonic sounds (the sound of each letter)
– phoneme (identify the beginning and ending sounds of words and blending of sounds to form a word)

Book awareness
Nursery 2 children will have their first set of Fitzroy readers.
Understand book orientation by holding the book correctly, turning the pages from left to right, identifying the front and back covers and title of the book.

Conduct Thematic lessons with songs, stories, rhymes and age appropriated activities/games.
Do home research project and Show and Tell session in school.

Motor Skill Development
Learn about space awareness (where the body moves), effort awareness (how the body moves) and relationship awareness (with whom the body moves) .
Enhance listening skill while following simple rules/instructions during a game.
Learn about safety during the process of the activities.

Social and Emotional Development
Learn to appreciate others through ‘Appreciation sharing time’ .
Encourage children to respond and verbalise their thoughts and ideas about their day in school/lessons.
Develop confidence to express themselves, to change and adapt new skills.
Learn to regulate and manage their feelings, thoughts and behaviour.
Learn to understand, accommodate and appreciate others, and build a stronger interpersonal relationship.
